The longer spacer is the original spacer used without fan shroud and could be used with either 4 or 5-blade fan. The 5-blade fan was used on high performance or ac and the 6-blade was used for ac. The short spacer was use with fan shroud.

Was doing a mock up today for the conversion to 4-speed. I had a almost new 11" diaphragm clutch I thought I was going to be able to use but that is not the case. The pressure plate had interference with casting at the clutch fork window as well as a reinforcement casting on the opposite side of the bell housing, this bell housing is real shallow. Original clutch was a Borg n Beck bur I want to use a diaphragm for easier pedal.
I am using a BW Super T10 4-speed 1.25 26 spline input shaft. I know I can use a 11", 10.5", or 10.4" and did a search online but can only find kits for 10 spline input. Dose anyone have any knowledge as to what pressure plate might work with a shallow bell using a 26 spline input?
Thanks Dan

Dan, you might check out LUK clutches, perhaps on Amazon. You may be able to find a better website, but they make a lot of the OEM style stuff, from what I have heard.

Dan,
That's a weird looking bellhousing, is that a 60 bellhousing? 61 doesn't look anything like that

I was going to ask the same thing Tommy. It sure looks different than anything I've ever seen.
Yep, that is the bellhousing for 59-60 and the only other option is a period correct scatter shield, its a real bitch. You have to put the bellhousing on before the flywheel and you can't tighten it down or you can't fit the flywheel through the bottom. First attach the bellhousing with the two upper bolts only screwed in a few threads, then install the flywheel and then the clutch disc and presurre plate and then tighten down the bellhousing. In 61 Pontiac got smart.
You can see from the pics all the interference on the inside. Last pic is the original 11" clutch pack.

It was pretty common practice to trim them to fit a different clutch pack but I don't want to do that. Notice the areas on this bell that have been trimmed.

Dave,
Called NAPA and they sell LUK so I bought a clutch kit for 69 Bonneville 26 spline disc. Will let you know if it works...:salute

Tried the LUK clutch today and we have success...:clap. Also picked up my fan shroud from the powder coater and dropped off the driveline at the driveline shop, front driveline will be shortened 2" and a new slip yoke for Super T-10 installed...:deal

Also my clutch fork had some ware and it looked like someone used a cutting torch to cut the pushrod off the end of the fork removing some material so I had to make some repairs. Also ordered a new fork spring and will install it once it arrives. Here are the before and after shots.

Dan , you probably want to keep this stock ,but i used Heim joint's on some carb linkage on my car and some on my clutch for my pickup . It take's the metal to metal friction out of linkage.
