Hi Guys,

Heard a story of a green Z11 possibly coming up for sale over there
supposed to have been raced very few times and blew a hole in block
stored in shed since never to see the light of day
Still has lightweight gear on it
was told it was around build number 48

have not got photos etc

was wondering if this could be sort of feasible or total BS

Thought there was only one green one and it was accounted for???

I thought Frank Sanders had the only one painted Azure Aqua? That one is restored with magnesium Americans on it, don't know if it has the original engine...

I'm far from expert, but I have never heard tale of a Z11 in Laurel Green (light) or Ivy Green (dark)....wait I take that back, one of Don Fezell's cars was Ivy green...

This is taken from the auction description for the Ivy green Z11. Apparently there were two produced in that color so you could be on to something special.

"California racer Richard Schroeder purchased this car from Enoch Chevrolet in San Diego, who sponsored Schroeder’s racing efforts in 1963. At the end of the season, the car was placed in Enoch’s used car lot with a 409 CI engine in place of the original Z11. Don Carney of Ellwood City, Pennsylvania, purchased the car from Enoch Chevrolet while he was stationed in San Diego with the U.S. Navy. Carney drove the Impala to Ellwood City when he returned home and eventually offered it for sale from his estate while preparing to move to Florida. After his first offer to buy was rejected, Don Fezell purchased the car from Carney a year later. "

Sounds too good to be true Steve? It would be interesting if a real Z11 shows up and see where it ends up.

Hi Mark,
Is that the Azure Aqua colour?
he said something like aqua green on the phone

Steve

Need more info on this car. You talked to this person on the phone? Where is he from? Are you setting up an appointment to go see the car and verify? What's going on this is HUGE. Is the car going up for sale?

Yep thats the same picture I have seen! Rusty's book doesn't mention any of the Alabama cars but I could have sworn I saw it mentioned somewhere that this car was Red... maybe on the facebook group?
