I currently Own a 1964 Impala SS. The car was professionally restored more than 20 years ago and has sat in a climate controlled garage for most of the last 2 decades. The car is really nice but I have ran into a couple conflicts while running the casting numbers and date codes (mostly using the book “Chevrolet by the Numbers” book s a reference) I am still collecting info, when I have my stuff together, I will throw out the questions The the experts on this forum.

I love reading the posts on this site, there is an incredible amount of knowledge that is shared. Thanks again for letting me in the club. V/R Mspahr

Welcome to the knowledge club! If you ask and there’s no answer it’s because there isn’t one! The knowledge here is the best you’ll find. Ask away.... nice car and we like lots of pictures!

Very nice looking car. What is under the hood, and behind the engine?
It’s a 409, 340 hp engine with a 4 speed (M20 I believe).
Im still searching for numbers to see if the casting numbers and date codes sync up, but I have my doubts. When I have all the numbers, I will post them and try to solve a couple mysteries
