What a great set of videos mr curb. You are the man! James jones
Thanks, I have read your storys as well and Im digging them, when I met my wife we bought a 60 elcamino it had a 348 in it with 409 large valve heads and a 4 barrel alum manifold, It had sat since 1970 and when I got it started the clutch just came out the bottom in a cloud of dust, Back then A guy named Curt Harvey was the go to for 409 stuff and I got a bunch of stuff from him, used forged pistons, solid roller cam and a predator carb, I ripped around in this car everywhere, it was fast It ran on street tires 13.4s so with slick a high twelve was in it, It was all good until it dropped a valve and ended that fun, it ruined one head and blew the cylinder wide open in the block, however I didnt care because I really wanted to live the era and to do that ya gotta run it like ya stole it. I'll try to find some pictures of the meano camino later. I really dig the 59 rag you had!!!!

Thank you for the compliment mr chev. I’m glad you have enjoyed them. That 59 was a running piece of iron. I’ve got a story of a 64 409 ss that I bought in 1976 that I’m trying to put on.

the el camino was special, it was a big block 4 speed car, it had factory chrome tailgate straps and latches and this real ugly rack thing that went around the box to tie down cargo, I never reinstalled it, but in retrospect really should have.

When I bought my 59 in 1967 the guy I bought it from told me it had 409 heads on it. I never knew one way or another but when i punched it from 30 on up to 90 it could have been. I knew it was a 348-250 from the block numbers and powerglide. It was definitely runner and I was not afraid to punch it when and where ever. It was also my first car. Mr chev. James jones
