UGGGGG, so on the other front been working on getting Ronnies engine ship shape and adding a DUI dizzy. We gave them all the cam specs and when we received it and went to drop it in, she didnt fit! It doesnt seat itself flat on the deck of the intake. We've sent it back and forth to their shop with our MSD ready run dizzy and today on the third arrival she still didnt fit!!

Nice guys there and called their builder Scott who jumped on a live video conference with me and through my laptop had me taking a bunch of measurements but were still stuck. The only difference we see is the pump shaft being a touch wider on his, but the gears are different in some way.

In the pics, the MSD gear that works is in the far right. The black one is his, the middle an extra i had.

When I take his gear off and replace it with the MSD, his dizzy drops in but its sloppy, meaning its got a touch of "wobble" because the inner of the gear is a bit loose. I had another gear and you can see it here, perfect OD for his shaft but again, wont let the dizzy sit flush on the deck.

The width of the gear splines seem the same, so is there a difference in the angle their cut at? Is there one that i can buy from showcars?

Cant wait to get this in and see if we can be off race fuel and add the rev limiter protection!!

Are the gears too long, causing them to bottom out? Compare the pin for the oil pump shaft location.Too far down could make it bottom out in the oil pump drive shaft.

Just talked to Don and wanted to share.

The gear measurement base to top was the same as well as bottom of gear to roll pin hole. The shaft "paddle" for the oil pump measured the same both height and width was the same. Scott from DUI will be calling back Monday and will let everyone know what he says. Just crazy the bronze gear from the MSD works on both and you get a "no-go at this station" for the rest.

I just changed my post to reflect the correct numbers.Sorry for any misinformation. This is going to be a nice, pump gas friendly street engine [that makes more power than a certian Z-11 based engine that we know of.]
