$400 back in 1991 for my first 1962 Bel Air Sport Coupe and I’m pretty sure I broke a Land Speed Record to the nearest ATM machine that day. Found it locally by absolute surprise about four miles from my house (just when you think you’re aware of everything in town!) and it was a Los Angele-built car with 1-piece bumpers that were in remarkable condition considering how bad the rest of the car was. Never quite finished it and let it go in an epic moment of weakness about 10 years afterwards when I had myself spread out too thin with too many other cars. 5027BE60-6FC6-4E9C-8683-5639B43570AE.jpeg

I believe you are correct, and I don’t believe that I was in the car purchasing mode between four years old and nine years old. I guess I just missed out! But one things for sure no disrespect but you must be old to have been able to buy vehicles for that price. I have a Bill of sale for my dad‘s first car when he was 17yrs old for a 49 Custom Ford Two Door and my grandpa let him buy it for 175.00 I’ll have to post a picture of the bill of sale and his Paper driver’s license this was in 1958 and the car was only nine years old. I wonder if it still exist. Maybe I’ll have to take the VIN down to the license bureau and have them run it and see if it is still out there and maybe try to buy it? I guess will check my odds and something extraordinary to happen. My first car was a 1965 impala super sport 283 power pack four barrel with a powerglide black interior and blue exterior. 12 bolt positrac 3.08 gears. Was the year 1979.6DA7A2C2-EE4A-4BC7-8083-4D5A280FE753.jpeg8823A2CF-5F40-4F7E-B62A-D0401C57A834.jpeg97E38B2C-2C1A-4059-B6EE-7222183E86C0.jpeg

A good friend of mine also captured 2 great deals.

-'55 Bel-Air 2-Dr Sedan, rock solid daily driver just off the road, 265, PG. Needed only a Battery, $25. This was in '69.
-'56 Bel-Air 4-Dr Sedan, 265, 3-Speed, hitched it up to my '62 to pull it home, I told him to turn on the key and pop the clutch, it started, un-hitched the chain and drove it home, $15. This was in '70.

These were great days with great memories.

My 1965 impala SS was given to me by my neighbor for mowing his yard taking care of his dog and cleaning his fish tank, he liked me and gave it to me as a gift. He also had a 65 impala SS 396 convertible with a 400 turbo it was red with black interior and top. The first car I ever bought was a 1968 Firebird with a 389 tri power in it 500.00 With a muncie four-speed. Way too fast for A kid of my age at the time 18yrs old. It was a very good driver and had a fresh blue printed Pontiac motor in it. It ran super well as long as you kept the RPM down you didn’t have to worry about killing it. I was instructed by the friend I bought it from, do not Scream this motor like you do your impala! And it will last you a long time.:confused:doh:good
