Holy Moly Greg....................did you ever go to work?????? Or did your job get in the way of your racing????!!!!!!
I'll bet you didn't realize what the old tracks mean now when you were racing in the 60's and 70's. Growing up in Southern California must have been a blast!!!!

I haven't been fortunate enough to make it to any of those. There is also a nice track over towards Savannah that I don't think has been mentioned, but I haven't been there either.
You aren't that far from me up in Monroe. The gentleman who bought the 61 Impala from my parents (it was part of the family 6 years ahead of me and the reason for my sickness. :crazy) lives in Social Circle. I have mentioned the site to him a few times, but haven't gotten him to join yet. Sure wish he would. He also has a super nice 60.

Wasn't quite that easy,Phil! When I got started,I was 5 years out of high school, and the track closure boom had started. It seemed that every few years we lost a track. No, I did work, racing fit in aound all that, and you have to remember that in the 1980- 1989 era, I wrote the newsletter for the 409 Chevy Club of America. I had so much going on that I suffered a bad case of burn out in early '88, so I downsized my life's activities. Never quit racing, however.
