Back again. I’m working my way through my 409 woes after the tuning saga before Xmas . On my budget and after a lot of advice from a lot of members here I’m changing the rear gear ratio & sticking with the z33 cam (for now) it’s worth putting my carters back on as the edelbrocks have defeated my sanity. I also read on a Facebook page the 500s are possibly too small for my combo hence going back to the carters. If all else fails I’ll save & go a big Holley single setup. For now I’ll try the my 3361 3362 carbs
I’ve torn them down today, they look pretty good. The primary jet decodes as .0935 with 16-690 rod and the secondary jet on both sides is un readable & can’t even remove one side due to damage to the jet. Will easy out it later.
Looking on the codes my carbs should have a .1015 primary and .0635 secondary’s
I’ve read a few forums on here that are 10 plus years old so hoping for advice on what I should try & where the best place to buy these jets and rods
Do the edelbrock step up springs work in the afbs ? The springs in my afbs look rather strong for my low intake vac produced by my cam to tame the metering rods. Any advice appreciated
