Hylift Johnson are the only 100 percent made in USA flat tappet lifter. Whoever I was buying lifters from, I would call and find out if that is what they use. Anything else is a crap shoot.

If it falls under the ring, I would have it cleaned up. Mock it up and see what the piston to deck is now. Even at zero and you deck it, you could deck it a little extra and go with the next thicker gasket.

Sure do. But I still drive the car. A data logger does nothing automatically for the driver or tuning VS just holding the steering wheel or an engineer in the pits making changes to the car as it goes around the track.

It’s my experience and observation that vintage speed parts that are internal like cranks, rods, pistons etc. don’t bring big money like parts that are visible and can be shown off. Yes it’s cool, unique, etc but if you put it in a car nobody will see it or really care. I would say it’s worth...
