There is a black 62 409 on Ebay.
The ad claims the car was once owned by "Mr. 409"
And there have been questions to who "Mr. 409" is.
I recently read an article in " The Rodders Journal", with an article about a 37 chev convertible with a 1964 425HP 409 in it and the article refers to Curt Harvey as "Mr 409" at C.H. Enterprises.
I found his website and included this link.
I have not yet had anytime to look the website over, but it may contain some great 409 info and history.

Check it out

Heritage and ownership

No offense intended, but if this is the one for $89,999 then it would've have to have been an aluminum front clip car and owned by the likes of "Dyno Don Nicholson" or some other legendary illuminary :)

I have a nice buildable lot in Columbia, Missouri I would trade "even up" for it.... :)

All in jest,

Tom K

P.S. Good Lord, I hope this isn't owned by one of you guys :)

Hey DQ,
I was just posting this because somebody else questioned who "Mr. 409" was.
I am still new to these 409 cars. I've been way more involved with chevelles.
I am doing the restoration on the engine bay of 70 Chevelle LS6 454 convertible.
It is 1 of 17 ever produced.
So while I know chevelles very well, I am still learning about the "big" cars
Just trying to pass along anything new I find out.

I confess!

Droptop, I suspect that was me who had inquired about the title "Mr. 409". I'd be interested as well.

Maybe we should take a vote and see who we think the title should rest with?

Cheers,
Tom K

Hey Tom,
There are probably a few guys here who could wear the title of "Mr. 409" as well
I would nominate Aubrey,
any seconds on that???

I emailed the seller and here is his responce,,,,,

It is Lamar Waden, if you would like to talk about documentation you can
call me at 815-979-2271
Thank You
Jerry

So the title goes to Lamar,,,,
I think that there are several great builders of the `09 and both Curt and Lamar are on top with a few like Aubrey chasing close behind !! Just give a big check to the OZ and he could be neck and neck !!

Hey Droptop,,,No biggie !! Keep us informed on what you see and hear,,,,we are all still learning,,,,dq

I personally know one of the the owner(s) of this car and it was supposedly once Lamar's car. It was a "ground-up" Show Cars" resto. and is indeed a very clean & beautiful car. :)
