front coil springs

I know we discussed this topic before and I tried to find the info I needed but didn't. I bought Moog 6084 for my 58 from Rockauto. My old springs measured 18.5inches and the new ones are 17.25 long. All the different selections they had none of them measured 18.5. The wire size on the old ones was .630 and the new ones are .665 maybe they are stiffer? The car has a 348. Vin

New Springs

I recently did the springs on my 58 Bel Air New Rear and just pulled the fronts in and out for bushing and disc brake install. The rear ones were new and for a wagon or Impala only ones avail but they are like cargo / heavy duty anyway I remember reading on the box or somewhere else that they may seem shorter but it's because they compress slightly less and the older springs would open out further when taken out.

I found another Moog site that had a listing of all their springs and my old ones might be #6000's. Anyway for a 58 the suggest 6084 so I'm using those. Thanks for your help Vin
