Will the bronze gear be fine for this Lunati hyd roller or do i need the fiber gear?

I forget the part # but I use new GM gears from the dealer. Good for Hyd and solid roller cams.

Get the Lunati fiber gear or the GM melonized gear that Scot mentioned.Brass gears don't live long enough on a street driven engine

Some cam manufacturers press on a cast iron gear to the billet shaft, like Comp Cams on their hyd roller cams. So you should check with the manufacturer to see if a different gear is required. Also then check with the distributor manufacturer. Most times thier go to gear is melonized.

Your correct Scott. Although it lasted for quite a while it was a chewed up mess by the time it gave it up at the worst possible time, half way through the quarter mile at the 409 convention! Bronze gears wear but usually don’t break. Listen to the pro’s that came before this post and take their advice.
