Chevy Orange

I've bought many cans of spray paint over the years that are labled 'Chevy orange' (engine enamel) from different manufactures. Some are quite a different color from others. My question is: Is there a real Chevy orange that has a specific paint code?If so, has Chevy allways used this specific color or have they changed it over the years?

Good question...I was hoping someone would know this too. I have noticed the difference myself. I've used VHT and plastikote and there is a big difference in shade between the two.
