Did a pick up for a friend and returned a couple of items of mine! The 58 did have a 348 in it!
Dan Blocker got a new '65 Chevelle Z-16 convertible-one of only 2 built. I understood that all the rest of the Z-16's were red 4 speed 396,375 horse 2 door hardtops.Wonder what ever became of it. I don't know if it ever turned up.
That's why you carry a spare in the glove box.Nice '57 pix. When I was in high school, an older gentleman in our town drove around in a 57 Bel Air 4 door hardtop, red with a white top, very good condition and the topper was the it had factory fuel injection, right down o the flags and Fuel Injection emblems on the front fenders. Apparently those were demonstrator cars that were out there for a few dealerships to use to extol the virtues of progress with the FI system. The weak point of the Ramjet Fuel Injection was the little speedo cable that ran from the distributor to the FI high pressure pump on the back of the unit itself. If that cable failed, it quit in a real hurry!
