Dan Dean here in Garland had a yellow with a black vinyl top and black interior Z16 that he and Dad campaigned in S Stock! He sold the car to a local kid who drove the car to high school and then college. A few years later he broke the motor and it was parked next to his parents house and it rusted to nothing. He told me this story 20 years ago! Sad story

Nice '57 pix. When I was in high school, an older gentleman in our town drove around in a 57 Bel Air 4 door hardtop, red with a white top, very good condition and the topper was the it had factory fuel injection, right down to the flags and Fuel Injection emblems on the front fenders. Apparently those were demonstrator cars that were out there for a few dealerships to use to extol the virtues of progress with the FI system. The weak point of the Ramjet Fuel Injection was the little speedo cable that ran from the distributor to the FI high pressure pump on the back of the unit itself. If that cable failed, it quit in a real hurry!

That's why you carry a spare in the glove box.
