First time on. Anyone know much about water pumps on 1958 348 engines? I have seen a few 1958 348's with out bypass ports to and from the water pump. What dose the bypass do?
The by pass allows the coolant to by pass the thermostat when the engine is cold,allowing for a more even warm up of the engines cylinders.You can get by without it by drilling a couple of holes in the thermostat .
