Just finished my "W" motor into my 1957 Chev 210 2 door sedan. Engine is a 1961 348" with 409 heads and a
fairly rough cam/springs. W motor tri power with a mini size distributor.
Installation included geometry and pre-planning.
Including: Moving engine fwd 1". Did not have to alter firewall.
Using 6 cal radiator support and moving radiator fwd of the support.
Notching cross member to clear pulley and be able to change belt when necessary.
Cutting off original transmission mounts.
Welding side motor mounts to the frame rails.
Fabricating offset bell crank pieces to accommodate 4 speed installation. About a one inch offset.
Used a 67-69 Camaro transmission mounting cross member.
Custom driveshaft.
Modified lower front of oil pan and used a three inch dropped steering link.
Blanked off fuel pump office and am using a Holley electric fuel pump.
Car runs very good! I did this for a fun project and bring back memories from my street race days.

My name is Gary Reser and live in Liberty Lake Wa. I also have an original gasser and a couple old convertibles. I will be seventy six next month

The question was| How could they fit the 1961 tri-power intake?
Heads are not the H.P., but built fairly decent now.
Needed to use mini dist. because of the tight fit to the firewall.
At first I thought about an auto. trans, then thought Nah! Go the
tough route with an old time 4 speed. I do have a B&M hydro in my
1970 built 1951 Chev gasser tho, and it works great!
Thank you for the welcome's!
