1/4 inch plug in the top of the block 409

On the top of my Block /front/ about 11 oclock, on top of the timing chain cover housing, is the square head 1/4 inch threaded plug, is that a oil port? or water jacket port?

I just left it in place as a plug and moved on, but, now I am looking for a secondary place to move, my oil factory light or my Digital oil Gauge.

I origianlly mad a TEE down at the oil pressure sending unit, but, its bulky and does not look very good and it dripped.

So, any advice on ports under pressure that could read oil pressure, in addition, the lower block driverside location.?

I could easily believe that, pretty far from pump and th as t high up. Any other options other than a Tee?
