Edelbrock Head Variations

Anyone recall about when Edelbrock changed the engraving on the ends of their heads from “Performer 409” to “Performer RPM 409”?

Did the early heads have machining issues, or was that just limited to the sheetmetal pushrod guides?

I believe all operations have been moved to Olive Branch, Ms but should have nothing to do with quality you would think. If I recall correctly it took a couple years to get up and running.

I'm sure Bob doesn’t mind their problems.

Hi, Fourzeronine, Thanks for the thread. The Edelbrock head #60815 has 150 lb valve springs #5821(for roller cams) and the #60819 has 128lb springs #5792(for solid cams). Everything else seems to be identical. It looks like they call one "RPM", and the other is just "performer". Both heads only handle .600 lift. Hope this helps.
