62 SS 327 Valve Covers / Air Cleaner Factory Options?

What air cleaner / valve cover finishes were offered on 62 327 cars? I have seen multiple combos in project photos. I would like to run red valve covers and a dual snorkel black air cleaner, but not sure if that could have been factory offering. Thank you

Air cleaner assembly was black. Valve covers were orange not red.

Can it be the dual snorkel like 2nd pic or just the single snorkel?

The first picture is original for 1962 Impala 327.

Also on the bottom the car has the later 327 valve covers that came out the middle of 63 with the triangle looking indentation on the 327 decal area 62 were perfect rectangles as is in the first picture.

Black painted dual snorkel air cleaners like the 2nd picture were used on 1962 Chevy 380 HP 409 motors.

All 283 and 327 1962’s from the factory used the single snorkel air cleaner like the first picture( without fluted end).

That single snorkel air cleaner in the first large picture has a fluted end on the snorkel used in 1964 small block motors.
1962 & 1963 small block motors had the same single snorkel air cleaner without the fluted end on the snorkel.

So this chrome set up would be from a year other then 62, maybe corvette on the valve covers? They don’t have the triangle at the sticker rectangle and the air cleaner is fluted so that would mean it’s also not 62

No chrome valve covers or air cleaners on factory 1962 Chevrolet 283 and 327 cars or 1962 409 cars.
The air cleaner in your picture is a factory 1963 340 HP low hp 409 single 4 barrel air cleaner. All 409 cars from the factory starting in 1963 to 1965 came with chrome valve covers and chrome air cleaners.

1962 283, 327 and 409 cars came with black painted air cleaners(single and dual 4 barrel) and Chevy orange valve covers on 283 and 327 cars and silver 409 valve covers.

I had my 1962 valve covers (no triangle on 62 327 valve covers) chromed and I added a chrome dual snorkel 1963 single high horsepower 400 HP air cleaner. See pictures of my 1962 327 motor with chrome valve covers and dual snorkel air cleaner(I like my 327 this way).
