SOB 58 Impala ragtop 348

New member. Chevy guy. Conceived in the back seat of the 58 in these pics up on Look Out Mountain rd. Boulder, CO. So, Chevy is part of my DNA. LOL
Wondering if I can bump up the amps my generator can generate in the voltage regulator, and how, If so.
Installed a new Pioneer 70 watt -no prob. But, the 1000 Watt amplifier that I installed with it -is....
No holes or alterations to the 58.

Welcome to this great site Scotty B. Did you try Power Master for a replacement high amp generator?

You need new alternator, don't know if the look alike gen/alt will fit the power steering pump You might be SOL without changing those

Dad worked at Denver Buick. Bought this brand new off the showroom floor.
Since it's a 348 and symmetrical. Can I just add an alternator to the other side, put dual belt pulleys on, and straight wire to the battery?
