    Cutting heads

Hi everyone. When cutting heads, would that affect the intake lining up properly for bolting or the runners?? Create any vacuum leaks?? Just wondering. Thanks, Carmine.

    Half hour late

This older Irish gentlemen Liam, meets with his golf buddies a few times a week. Sometimes, he brings left handed golf clubs and sometimes right handed golf clubs. When done and making arrangements for another outing, he always says that he might be 1/2 hour late. So, this goes on for a while...

    327 engine

I didn't see your message and left you one in conversations. You can disregard it. Thank you, Carmine.

    327 engine

I think so. At least for now, but one never knows, Carmine.

    327 engine

If not the 30-30 Duntov cam, which one would you suggest?? I would want a solid cam because I really want to rev this engine. While at the machine shop, I would also have this engine dynode not only for break-in and adjustment purposes, but hp and torque rating. Never had this done before, Carmine.

    327 engine

I'll look around for the correct parts if possible/reasonable, but it's not absolutely necessary. If Edlebrock makes the proper intake and carb., or even Holley, then that's fine with me. Especially considering I might use aluminum heads. I think the importance to me is to try and achieve that...

    327 engine

That is excellent. Thank you very much. It sums things up nicely. Tough to believe it's only a 600 cfm carb. Thought it would be about a 750?? I wouldn't mind aluminum heads that are equal to or better then the cast iron ones. My 327 has been on an engine stand and covered for quite some time. I...

    327 engine

Just looking at some cylinder heads on line. Couldn't find anything specific to a 327/365 build, but did find many cast iron heads with 1.60/1.94 valves, 64cc. Would this be a good head for the build I am thinking about?? Should they be bigger valves?? I don't mind a good set of aluminum heads...

    327 engine

For me, the 327 was the best small block Chevy ever made. As a young teenager when these first came out, if you could get your hands on one, you were something else. My mother had one in a '62 Impala-automatic. Raced that car every chance I got. Never took on any big blocks. Had to keep the...

    327 engine

I'm starting to develop a little interest into making this 327 a 365 horse engine. I've done a little research and see that the compression ratio is 11:1. I don't think this would work well with the 94 octane gas available. Probably 10:1 would be better and that might be pushing the envelope...

    327 engine

Some great replies and advice. Thank you very much. Another idea that I explored with this engine, was to make it into a 327/365-375 that went into a Corvette. I think GM did this in '64-'66. I was going to research what went into making a 327 into that. Buy the necessary parts and have the...

    327 engine

Hi everyone. When I bought my '62, it had a '68 327 engine in it. It ran well. I removed it and put in a 409. I kept the 327 and at one time thought about making it a 383 stroker. I'm still undecided about what to do with it. I was told it has large journals and wouldn't be as good a candidate...

    1962 SS tach

Excellent choice. I had my '62 tach and sending unit fixed by them. Sent them both parts for calibration. Worked great with modern internals. No more battery. I believe it's a lifetime warranty also. Not really sure of the price, but worth it to me, Carmine.

    Thermostat

Why I ask this question, is because my '55 265 engine is under cooled if there is such a thing. It takes forever, even on the hottest July day, to reach operating temperature which is I believe 165 degrees. Sometimes, it stays in the 160 degree range. I contributed to this issue. When I first...
