Well tried the grease and snug bolt didn’t work tried the bread and bolt that didn’t work either the tool I bought bottomed out before it snugged up to bushing.So used die grinder cut relief cuts in bushing used slide hammer with vise grips got most of it out but not all.Got enough that the...

No I didn’t figured I would try the grease when using that new tool and see how that worked out.

Going to try this tool if that won’t work I tap it and use a bolt.

Outer collar is steel with brass bushing inside.

Used a 3 lb hammer trying not to go to crazy.

Well I tried the bread method with a snug bolt that wouldnt work even tried grabbing the end with vise grips and slide hammer this thing isn’t budgin.

Need to get it out it won’t let the torque converter go in far enough.

It’s a steel tube with a plastic bushing inside that will spin inside the tube.in looking at another crank I have it looks like the steel tube is driven into the end of the crank.

That’s what is was thinking just didn’t want to mess anything up before I ask the question assuming can always get you in trouble thanks a lot

So I am new to this forum and putting together a 59 el Camino with a 348 and in going to put a aluminum power glide in and run into a problem my crankshaft has some sort of bushing in the end of it was wonder if someone could tell me what it is and can it be removed thanks in advance.
