    Bayer Z-11 head HELP !!!

Just made a 5 hr trip to Lock N Stitch. They said the head can’t be repaired. It would warp in the furnace with the amount of welding needed to be done and the machining would take it all back off just to make it straight. Also the brazing that had been done previously was a concern. It will...

Called Delta Cams today to get an update on the “mystery cam”. This is what they said. Flat Tappet Experimental “Cheater Cam”. .556 lobe lift 290° duration 104° lobe separation I forgot the lift @ 50°. It’ll be on the cam card. They said the valve lash settings was likely ~.035-.040...

    Bayer Z-11 head HELP !!!

Boxerdog There is a Lock N Stitch shop In Turlock Ca. About 70 miles south of my location. I’ll contact them and may take the head down to them and let them evaluate whether or not they can do anything. Wristpin I don’t think you’re out in left field at all. But like you said it would be...

    Bayer Z-11 head HELP !!!

I just got back from speaking with Nathan at Horsepower by Gerolamy. The better of the two heads has two cracks on one cylinder face. That can can be addressed fairly easily by pinning and a light skim. Also one exhaust seat had been cut deep and will require a hardened seat to bring the...

Barry Gerolamy retired and closed the BC Gerolamy quite a long time ago. He built a set of Ironhead Sporty heads for me with dual plugs, XR 1000 valves big springs and did some fantastic port work. They became the prototypes for future sporty performance heads and were featured in advertising...

    Bayer Z-11

Saturday I talked with Nathan Gerolamy (Horsepower by Gerolamy) who is working on my heads. After blasting the heads in preparation for mag checking I was informed that the -.050 head has been really hurt. Beyond the massive face cut that was done by Excels Weld in Baldwin Park back in the...

    IA Lower Control Arms

I boxed my stock upper and lowers on my 62 sport Belair. I had also extended them 2” so I could run a taller tire without modifying the wheel openings. Car reacted very well off the line even with the longer altered WB.

    Rear Lower control arms

I sure hate to hear that. Get with your CC company and cancel the purchase. Not the way to do business if in fact they still have an operation. They shouldn’t have been accepting orders until they had their own house in order.

    Isky Roller cam selection

Has anyone tried the Isky .730 mechanical roller camshaft PN 0937 that Show Cars sell? I’m contemplating that or Isky .650 roller cam. Show Cars PN 0936 This is for my 482” 13.5:1 CR. Z-11 build. Not a street car. Trailer Queen / Nostalgia exhibition stuff

The heads were delivered are in trusted hands. After a long conversation and a meeting of the minds I am confident we are all on the same page. They will be cleaned and mag’d. I’ll get a report back early next week and begin ordering parts.

I’m going to contact several other well respected and trustworthy racing machine shops locally. Both of which I’ve used in the past and now run by their second generation machinists. Will update what I come up with.

A lot of questions in this post I could use help with. I’m trying to assemble a parts list to submit to Show Cars? Can someone tell me what the proper twist cap oil filler tube design I need for the intake manifold? Which type of ventilation port tube, if any? Twist cap style? Front return...

Yes this was a crate early style Super T-10 of 6-72 vintage that had a main case change with a 6-62 Buick, Olds, Pontiac, (BOP) cast iron case. I’m aware this is not an original equipment spec trans. This is a high nickel ~1/8” wider 2.43 low gear 2 ring course input shaft and a course...

Bob. I don’t what to deter from this thread but I have a question. Is there a way to set up that when I open a thread it automatically goes to the last post without having to scroll down to the bottom of the first page and hit the fast forward button?
