I know...... I hate these too.

I've got a rebuilt 348 tri-power... appears to be a truck block. new internals, '30 over pistons, rebuilt iron powerglide. Was going to go into my 55 Nomad project but am going into a change of direction.... including the car. I've got about 5 different parties interested in the engine/tranny...

    What's inside?

I bought a rebuilt 348 (655 block, tri-power) about a year and a half ago to put in the 55 Nomad I may get to someday. Anyway, I pulled a plug today to see the condition of the pistons (sure it was "rebuilt"):brow . Anyway, the pistons are new and have the stampings: 8038 .030...

    Beach Boys' school bus

If it's a 62-65 Truck 348, it will be a 655 casting that doesn't show up in the casting numbers in the link above. I just sold a complete 655 engine out of a 62 motorhome............ 348. Good luck

    Engine storage?

I recently bought a rebuilt 348 tri-power with cast iron powerglide (also rebuilt) for my 55 Nomad. It'll likely be a couple of years before the engine makes it into the car and is run. Just looking for some suggestions on the things you folks do when you know you're not going to run an engine...

    348 or 409

I've got a similar engine. 655 block, dipstick on passenger side. Came out of a early 60's motorhome. I'm thinking some of the bigger trucks (Cab Overs, motorhomes, etc) had passenger side dip sticks because of restricted access to a driver's side rear dipstick????

ENG BLOCK CONVERT: Is it Fit?

I've got a 655 block with one notch. I thought the later 348 truck engines only had one notch. A little rusty right now but you can see the single notch.

    348 Truck Engine

Well, I finally found time to tear down the engine that I'm hoping to build for my 55 Nomad. It 's a 3857655 Block with 37644702 heads. I'm planning on running a tri-power. I was wondering what kind of engine I can expect to end up with? The block appears to be 62-65 and has one relief cut. Is...

    Tri-power carbs???

Thanks, Is the difference between a 2G and 2GC the choke? So if I was looking for carbs to put a set together, would I be able to get 3 2GC's, remove the chokes and upper venturi's from the end carbs, and replace the bases? Sorry if the questions are stupid, but I know very little about...

    Tri-power carbs???

Was wondering if someone could give me some advice as to what needs to be done to "build" end carbs in a tri-power set-up. Can you use 2GC's and remove the choke and ???? I'm assuming in converting the end carbs to dumpers, you remove the butterflies so they run full open when called upon...
