I have a 2.29 G-body rear. OD already built in. I cyphered out the situation and got a 69 Chevelle starter. First time that car has made noise since the early 80s.

They line up but the snouts don't fit in scattershield. Had this same problem with a 65 C-10 back in the day.

I made some brackets. Starter question... I have bolted the 348 straight to a scattershield. Which starter should I use, the small nosed '69+/- Corvette style starter? The upper starter kinda fits but the bolts are too long and the big lower unit must be for a later automatic.

I have both a great working '58 PG (along with the T/C, adapter, linkages, flexplate, starter, yoke) and a generator with the PS pump. Parts are the result of the P.O. doing an LS swap. I'd like to get a set of spare heads for my 348 to slowly build for some day. I don't know which heads, not...

Fan location is great. I may be jinxing things, but it seems as though the 348 was meant to go in this pinched nose car.

More progress. Adapter plate for the T4 rear mount fabbed and in place, so engine and tranny are in. Put the front clip on to allow design and fabrication of the alternator bracket base plate. Should be done tomorrow. Then the clip comes back off to cipher on the power steering attachment.

Not to jinx things, but starting to look doable.

If I read correctly the SBC flywheel will work on a 348. I have a 3729004 flywheel. I plan on using a 10.5 clutch, Lakewood scattershield and a T-4. I know, it's weak, but I have no need (or plans) to hammer thru the gears anymore. 1939 Master, not an Impala.
