I am running the March system and all is well. I chose March because it has the most belt wrap, more than Billett. If you are going to run above 6000 you can ask for their smaller crank pully to slow things down. If you have power steering you might have a clearance proble at the steering box...
Thanks for your quick answer. The edlerbrock manifold has had too many problems, this included. what with the breather vent sucking oil to this dist. problem. I have checked and found .070 space befor it bottoms out.
Has anyone installed the new 500 steering with a 409 4 row radiator. I understand that the box will hit the lower corner of the tank. How have you corrected this problem?
Thanks for your input. I am useing a starter with the diagonal bolt patern, and a cast nose to support the bendix. Very close to the GM starter. I have not installed the engine yet, and the trans. is still in the car. Just looked like there might be some clearence problem with the starter nose...
I AM building a 348/440 with Elderbrock heads. I am using Comp Cam Magium roller tip rockers with a Comp Cam hyd. cam. The Eld. push rod appear to be too short, more so the intake. DOES ANYONE HAVE ANY INPUT?
I understand that the 348/409 starter mounting location, block bolt holes are not the same as other Chevy engines. I see that some of you are using a starter from D B. I called them and they claimed to have no 409 listing. What is the best place to get a starter?
